I have just started to actively code for the last 5 months and I already feel pretty confident of what 2019 will hold for me .

Here I am just trying to reach out to people like me who are beginning their journey .

Most of us doubt ourselves and our ability when a task is put in front of us . Even the simplest of problems might seem daunting . People who are waiting for that one big break in whatever that they are doing all I have to say is “Be prepared to struggle”.

The struggle is what will take you to the next level. I use the word struggle and not fail because I have realized that failure is imminent. You will fail and there’s no two ways about that. It is extremely important how we pick ourselves up after such failures and that’s the struggle that we have to get through to taste success.

Yeah the iconic Rocky Balboa quote :

“It ain’t about how hard you hit . It is about how hard you get hit and still stand up and keep moving forward.”

Peer pressure

Never do something because someone else is doing it and becoming successful. You have to fully commit to what you want to do and be passionate about it .

Never make the mistake of comparing yourself with peers who are ahead of you and feel demoralized . They have gone through their own struggles to reach that position .

You might not be able to reach that position as fast as they did . Your learning curve might be different . Their learning methods might not work for you . It is imperative to fully understand about yourself and what works for you .

Be prepared to get out of your comfort zone and set your goals right .

Social media

I quit Facebook about the same time I started actively coding . I found I was wasting too much time scrolling through the timeline for memes . It is not necessary that everyone should quit if you have the self control . I am only on Twitter currently with the main purpose of reaching out to the #100DaysOfCode community.

This is my first blog post in any medium and I hope to write more in the coming years and also improve my writing skills .
